Art for the Sake of Art
So much excess and utter crap exists in this world. You're sold useless shit every second of your existence in an ever-increasing assault on the senses. It's not just useless junk at $multinational_chain_store$, it's everwhere. So much time, energy and human creativity is wasted on this orgy of ugliness.
We're here for a reason that's alien in this 21st century world. Art being made not to sell at you, not to sell some damn product or overpriced condo. It is art made for the pure unadulterated sake of making art.
What is ARSNIC?

ARSNIC aims to bring the edge back, to hone in on the open wounds and replace the bitter toxins in our city with it's own more virulent images. People talk of things like "gurella" art and the city fawns over the uninspired works of allegedly "rogue" wheatpasters. They're all billing themselves as something they only halfway even come close to acheiving.
ARSNIC pulls our name from the toxic metal that rained down from the vanished copper smelter stacks of the early 20th Century. It's aggressive and naturally occuring, but also spawns from the industrial practices of Man; the same process that has trivialized the arts and socitey. ARSNIC is:
- Unpredictable.
- Exists only for the sake of existing.
- Takes more than just one form.
- Is the spawn of creativity amidst urban decline
- fills in the blanks left by rot
- provides "what should have been"
- uses the City as it's canvas
- Seeks to break conventions.
- Makes some uncomfortable; inspires the rest

You can find the fruits of our labor wherever sufficently high quantaties of Homo sapiens are found. Art is, was and will always be a function of socitey, it is for People to see and smell, to touch and tase... not to be held behind the cold mausoleum doors of an art museum. For the immediate time being, we keep our influence within certain select neighborhoods and within the core of downtown Tacoma. The city is our playground and we will fill the gaping hole that the arts community is not even noticing.
